  • 100g unsalted butter
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 100g hard cheese, grated
  • 1 large egg yolk
  1. Gather the following ingredients for the cheese crackers: hard cheese, unsalted butter, all-purpose flour, and one large egg yolk.
  2. Using a knife, finely chop the cold butter and blend it with the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.
  3. Incorporate the grated hard cheese into the mixture.
  4. Add the egg yolk to the mixture and lightly stir to combine. Then, gently knead the mixture until it forms a cohesive dough.
  5. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow it to firm up. After chilling, briefly knead the dough again until smooth.
  6. Divide the dough in half. Roll out each half into a circular shape.
  7. Cut the rolled-out dough into equal segments to form cracker shapes.
  8. Use a cocktail straw to punch decorative holes in each cracker, mimicking the appearance of traditional cheese.
  9. Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake the crackers for approximately 10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
