Quick Magic Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
- Lavash (flatbread) – 300 g (about 3 sheets)
- Cottage cheese (Tvorog) – 300 g
- Eggs – 3 medium
- Milk – 250 ml
- Cheese – 250 g, grated (choose a type that melts well, like cheddar or mozzarella)
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
- Butter – 40 g, melted, plus extra for greasing the pan
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F). Grease a 20-24 cm diameter baking dish with butter.
- Prepare the Filling:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cottage cheese, eggs, and milk until smooth. Season with salt.
- Stir in most of the grated cheese, reserving some for topping the pie.
- Layer the Pie:
- Place a sheet of lavash on the bottom of the greased dish.
- Pour a portion of the cheese and egg mixture over the lavash, spreading it evenly.
- Repeat the layers until all the lavash and filling are used, finishing with a layer of the mixture.
- Top with Cheese and Butter:
- Sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the cheese.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is set.
- Cool and Serve:
- Let the pie cool slightly before cutting into squares or wedges.
- Garnish with fresh herbs like chopped chives or parsley, if desired, just before serving.
