Rabokki
Ingredients:
- 1 package of instant ramen noodles
- 6 rice cakes (tteok), sliced if they are large
- 1 sheet of fish cake (eomuk), cut into bite-sized pieces
- A handful of cabbage, cut into squares
- 1 green onion (spring onion), sliced
Sauce Ingredients (using a standard rice spoon and paper cup measurements):
- 1 spoon of fine red pepper powder (gochugaru)
- 1 spoon of soy sauce
- 1 spoon of sugar
- 1 spoon of oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
- 1 spoon of gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
- 0.5 spoon of instant ramen soup base
- 4 cups (600ml) of water
Preparation Method:
- Pour 600ml of water into a pan and add all the sauce ingredients.
- Turn on the gas and mix the sauce well.
- When the sauce starts to boil, add the cabbage, rice cakes, and fish cake.
- Once it comes to a boil again, add the ramen noodles and cook.
- When the noodles are about 70% cooked, add the sliced green onion.
Tips:
- If you prefer a thicker consistency, use 3.5 cups (550ml) of water.
- If you don’t use cabbage, 600ml of water will still yield a thick consistency.
Enjoy your Rabokki, a delightful and spicy Korean dish that’s perfect for a filling meal!
