Rabokki

Rabokki

  • 1 package of instant ramen noodles
  • 6 rice cakes (tteok), sliced if they are large
  • 1 sheet of fish cake (eomuk), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • A handful of cabbage, cut into squares
  • 1 green onion (spring onion), sliced

Sauce Ingredients (using a standard rice spoon and paper cup measurements):

  • 1 spoon of fine red pepper powder (gochugaru)
  • 1 spoon of soy sauce
  • 1 spoon of sugar
  • 1 spoon of oligosaccharide (or corn syrup)
  • 1 spoon of gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • 0.5 spoon of instant ramen soup base
  • 4 cups (600ml) of water
  1. Pour 600ml of water into a pan and add all the sauce ingredients.
  2. Turn on the gas and mix the sauce well.
  3. When the sauce starts to boil, add the cabbage, rice cakes, and fish cake.
  4. Once it comes to a boil again, add the ramen noodles and cook.
  5. When the noodles are about 70% cooked, add the sliced green onion.

Tips:

  • If you prefer a thicker consistency, use 3.5 cups (550ml) of water.
  • If you don’t use cabbage, 600ml of water will still yield a thick consistency.
