  • Eggs – 5
  • Salt
  • Butter – 4 tablespoons (approx. 60 grams)
  • Garlic – 1 clove
  • Sweet paprika – ¼ tablespoon
  • Dried mint – 2-3 leaves
  • Hot pepper (optional)
  • Dried parsley – ½ teaspoon
  • Crispy bread for serving
  1. Cook the Eggs: Start by boiling water in a saucepan. Once boiling, add a pinch of salt and carefully lower the eggs into the water. Let them cook for 9 minutes. This timing ensures that your eggs are perfectly soft-boiled.
  2. Chill the Eggs: After 9 minutes, remove the eggs from the boiling water and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water. Let them sit in the ice bath for 2 minutes. This method prevents the eggs from cracking during cooking and makes them easier to peel.
  3. Prepare the Sauce: While the eggs are chilling, prepare the sauce. Heat a stainless steel skillet over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt without letting it brown. Add minced garlic, sweet paprika, dried mint, and parsley to the butter. If you like a bit of heat, you can also add some finely chopped hot pepper.
  4. Serve: Peel the chilled eggs and cut them in half. Place the egg halves cut-side down onto the skillet. Gently spoon the herbed butter sauce over the eggs, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
  5. Enjoy: Serve the soft-boiled eggs drizzled with the aromatic sauce immediately, accompanied by slices of crispy bread. This combination of soft, rich eggs with the fragrant sauce and the crunch of fresh bread makes for a perfect start to your day.
