Air-Fried Tofu Poppers

Serves: Depends on the amount of tofu used

  • Tofu, cut into bite-sized cubes
  • Sriracha sauce, for dipping
  • Cheese sauce, for dipping (optional)
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C). If your air fryer requires preheating, make sure to do so before cooking.
  2. Take the tofu cubes and pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This step is crucial for getting a crispy exterior.
  3. Arrange the tofu cubes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Ensure that the pieces are not touching; otherwise, they might not cook evenly.
  4. Cook the tofu for about 8-10 minutes, then shake the basket or turn the pieces over, and continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes or until the tofu is golden brown and crispy.
  5. Once cooked, transfer the tofu poppers to a serving plate.
  6. Serve immediately with a side of Sriracha sauce for dipping. If desired, offer cheese sauce for a richer dipping experience.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer; cook in batches if necessary to ensure each piece is evenly cooked.
  • Tofu can sometimes not puff up due to varying moisture content or if the pieces overlap and do not receive even heat.
  • For a crispier texture, you can lightly brush the tofu with oil before cooking.
  • Adjust cooking times based on your air fryer model and the size of your tofu cubes. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning
