Beef Pasta Recipe
Ingredients:
- Ground beef – 1 lb (450 g)
- Onion – 1, diced
- Garlic cloves – 3, minced
- Carrot – 1, diced
- Bell pepper – 1, diced
- Celery stalks – 2, diced
- Canned tomatoes – 200 ml, crushed or diced
- Pasta – 250 g, any short variety like shells or penne
- Parsley – chopped, for garnish
- Salt – to taste
- Black pepper – to taste
- Italian herbs – 1 teaspoon, dried mix
- Olive oil
Instructions:
Sauté the Vegetables:
- Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion, minced garlic, diced carrots, diced bell pepper, and diced celery. Cook until the vegetables are soft, about 5-7 minutes.
Cook the Beef:
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the pan.
- Cook the beef, breaking it apart with a spoon, until it’s browned and no pink remains.
Season:
- Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and Italian herbs. Stir well to combine all the flavors.
Add Tomatoes:
- Pour in the canned tomatoes and let the sauce simmer for about 10-15 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Cook the Pasta:
- While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the pasta and reserve a cup of pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if needed.
Combine Pasta and Sauce:
- Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach the desired consistency.
Serve:
- Transfer the pasta to serving plates.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and fresh flavor.
