Mozzarella and Tomato Stuffed Chicken Breast
Ingredients:
- 500 g chicken breast
- Salt
- Black pepper
- 150 g mozzarella cheese (suitable for pizza)
- 100 g tomatoes
- Dry basil
- Flour for coating
- Vegetable oil for frying
Preparation Method:
- Begin by butterflying the chicken breasts: slice them horizontally but not all the way through, opening them like a book.
- Season the inside of the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, and dry basil.
- Slice the mozzarella and tomatoes into thin pieces.
- Place the mozzarella and tomato slices inside the butterflied chicken breasts. Then fold the chicken over the fillings.
- Secure the edges of the chicken breast with toothpicks to keep the stuffing from coming out during cooking.
- Dust the stuffed chicken breasts lightly with flour, ensuring a thin and even coating.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully place the chicken in the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the chicken is cooked through. The cheese inside should be melted and gooey.
Serving: Remove the toothpicks and serve the chicken hot, possibly with a side of fresh greens or your choice of pasta. Enjoy your scrumptious stuffed chicken breast!
